Sabonis’ Triple-Double, Acuff’s 33 Not Enough in Kings Loss
Darius Acuff Jr.’s breakout scoring night and a massive Domantas Sabonis stat line vanished as Portland’s third-quarter barrage handed Sacramento a disappointing second straight regular-season defeat. The Sacramento Kings lost 128-120 to the Portland Trail Blazers, despite Darius Acuff Jr. scoring 33 points for the Kings, but his performance was not enough to secure a win for the team. Despite Sabonis' triple-Double and a strong performance from the Kings' Deni Avdija, Toumani Camara and Damian Lillard each scored 19 points for them, while Scoot Henderson added 15 points off the bench. The Kings shot 46% from the field and 26% from beyond the arc, while the Trail Blazers made eight three-pointers in the third quarter. Despite a 44-26 third quarter evaporated Sacramento's lead, the Kings found themselves behind the Trail Trail Blazers. The team's performance was praised by Kings head coach Doug Christie and their players.
