ICE denies hitting NorCal man with SUV. Police say video tells a different story

Woodland police Chief Ryan Kinnan said DHS' claims are "inconsistent" with evidence. Local officials in Northern California are investigating an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer who allegedly hit a legal observer with their car in Woodland, north of Sacramento. The Department of Homeland Security initially denied the incident, claiming that the pedestrian jumped onto the hood and slid off. However, local officials, including the local mayor and police chief, have stated that video evidence contradicts their claims. The incident occurred around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday and occurred near Locust and Clover streets in Woodlands, about 20 miles northwest of Sacramento, when an unmarked SUV hit him. The pedestrian, 37-year-old Antonio Moreida, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. The ICE agent reportedly braked before the crash and remained at the scene during the investigation.
