Hot dog chain had dozens of German cockroaches in its restaurant. What else?
Sacramento County Health Inspections gave four eateries red placard and citations to 10 other facilities. Sacramento County Health Inspectors have issued red placards to Wienerschnitzel in Natomas after finding 33 German cockroaches in various areas of the facility, including on the floor beneath the ice machine and on three glue traps. Additionally, 10 local eateries were cited for various health food violations, including improperly cooling fried rice and 12 live and dead German cock roaches in the facility. The county performs about 14,000 inspections annually and about 97% of establishments pass. A red placard signals an imminent danger to public health and safety, which suspends an establishment's health permit until corrected. The California Department of Public Health is responsible for the initial investigation of consumer complaints regarding retail food facilities.
