Rain to take welcome weekend break in Sacramento. Here’s how long it could last

Temperatures will moderate for the weekend, but more rain is in the future. Here’s what we know so far about Halloween and early November. After two days of intense rainfall across Central California, the state is ending with a brief break. Radar-estimated rainfall totaled more than half an inch in parts of the San Joaquin Valley and a quarter inch in the Sacramento Valley. The official Sacramento International Airport total so far is 0.34 inches, which would make it the wettest two-day stretch for Sacramento since May 4-5. Meanwhile, Fresno recorded at 0.2 inches at the airport, the wittest two days since April 25-26. The biggest rainfall came from Southern California and the Central Coast, with Santa Barbara receiving over two inches and San Luis Obispo receiving about an inch and a half. As the rain leaves, temperatures will moderate back to normal by Saturday and Sunday, with typical late October weather lingering into next week. El Niño is expected to increase precipitation statewide this winter, with the biggest gains likely to arrive in December.
