Ja Morant, Damian Lillard and a scene the Trail Blazers hope defines their season
The Trail Blazers want to be selfless. That starts with Portland's star guards. The Trail Blazers have started their season with a 2-0 victory over Sacramento. The team's coach, Micah Nori, substituted Damian Lillard and Ja Morant out of the game in favor of better defenders in the final two minutes of the match. The pair, who have a combined 13 All-Star selections between them, both played well and made crucial plays when it counted. This move is seen as a key moment in the team's season, with Lillard playing 33 minutes and Morant finishing with 12 points and a team-high seven assists. Toumani Camara, Robert Williams III, Deni Avdija and Sidy Cissoko also contributed significantly to the victory. The new postgame gimmick involves boxing gloves for players delivering the "knockout punch" for victories, and Camara was chosen for his defense and 3-pointers.
