As the holidays end, Sacramento residents are removing decorations and disposing of their Christmas trees, with up to five trees per residence being placed in an organic waste container or placed in the street. Another option is to break down the tree and prune it down so it fits into the container. The city's recycling service is available for pick-up. All recyclable items must be removed from storm drains and bike lanes. The final day for collection is February 1, 2025.
