Located in the southern part of the Sacramento Valley at the entrance to the American Rivers in the Sacramento River, many tourists are almost on their way from the Bay Area to the Sierra Nevada Sacramento.

But Sacramento is too bad to leave left and offers more than just the seat of former Governor Arnie Schwarzenegger. It has been the capital of the well-known state since 1854.

  • Sutter's Fort. Sutter's Fort, located between K and L Street and 26th and 28th Street, was built by Johann August Sutter in 1839. The two-story main building in the Adobe style was completed between 1841 and 1843 and is now the only building of this reconstructed and renovated facility that has been preserved in its original state. The State Historic Park is open daily from 10:00 to 17:00, except on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day.
