Lost forklift causes traffic delays on Highway 99

A heavy-duty forklift fell off a big rig at 3 a.m. on a transition ramp connecting northbound Highway 99 to Highway 50 in Sacramento, causing traffic delays on the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 99. The forklift also damaged a guard rail and part of it fell onto the sidewalk below. No injuries were reported. The ramp remained closed as of 5am. Traffic was diverted by police while cleanup efforts were underway.
