The Tree House Cafe owner, Fro, plans to expand the outdoor area and bring in local food trucks to accommodate the new customers. The move to bring the Oakland Athletics Major League Baseball team to West Sacramento's Sutter Health Park is a home run for some West Sacramento businesses.They're excited about the economic impact not only on their establishments, but to the city overall."Just seemed like there was an opportunity for an all-day café when we opened two years ago," said Clay Nutting, owner of Franquette Cafe.Nutting knows there's a bigger opportunity to serve major league fans before they head over to the ballpark down the block."We are going to do our best in our tiny little café to serve as many folks as we can," Nutting said. "Just the energy is going to be great and we look forward to being a part of that."West Sacramento Mayor Martha Guerrero said the city has been dreaming of this move. "It’s just a historic day," she said. Guerrero wants the baseball fans to enjoy the city and local businesses while cheering on their team."We are going to embrace you, A’s, and your fans are going to have a great time in this beautiful ballpark," she said.The owner of the Tree House Cafe, Fro, is making more room for the fans."It’s going to make me an A’s fan," said Fro. He's expanding the outdoor area and planning to bring in local food trucks, all so his new customers can enjoy his establishment on 3rd Street. "We will definitely hire more people, their gratuities will go up and definitely will be able to afford to compensate them more," he said. Staff is already thinking about A's themed menu items."We will have the (Jose) Conseco sandwich, Mark McGwire grand slam, the stealing bandit and I will call the Ricky Henderson," said Fro. Nutting said the entire community and the businesses are excited for what might come. "It’s just a cool win for the region, that’s what it’s all about."
